Add a Widget
Widgets are great, free add-ons that can spice up your website. Many of these are social in nature, but there are also many others that can be relative to your business or industry. To add a widget to your website:
Step 1: Generate Widget
Widgets utilize a set of code which allow them to connect with and display on your website. The site you use to create your widget will often allow you to customize it as well.
- After your customizations are made, it should provide a code, or at least prompt you to generate it.
- Copy the code.
Step 2: Create Module
- Access: Content>Module Manager.
- Click the Add New Module button.
- From the list, choose Free HTML Content.
- Provide a Name for the module.
- Select a template Position in which to place the widget.
If you are unsure which position to choose, find an existing module in the desired spot (on the public view). You can then locate the module and it's 'position' in the module manager. (Most often used, are the "left" or "right" positions (if available)).
- Leave the Theme at its default.
If other modules in the same position use a theme other than default, you may want to test its display with both that and the default option.
- Click Add & Configure.
- Select the Free HTML Code tab.
- Paste the code you had copied from step 1 into this section.
- Adjust any module settings, if necessary (i.e. visibility).
- Click Save & Close.
- Turn on the light bulb to activate the module.
- Refresh a page that the module is visible on to see your widget.
