Not Receiving Form Attachments

A common misconception is that if a file upload field on your form notification email says "[Attached]", that a file was actually submitted. This is not always the case.

"[Attached]" actually acts as a placeholder for a file upload field. It will display regardless of whether or not a file was submitted. The primary reason for this, is so you can differentiate an upload field from other fields in a form submission. If "[Attached]" is followed by a file name, then a file was uploaded and will be attached to your email. If "[Attached]" appears by itself, then no file was uploaded.

The screen capture below demonstrates what a form submission with an attachment will look like on the left and without, on the right.
