Creating a Form for an Event

Creating a form for an event follows the same steps as you would to create a regular website form, with the exception of 2 items.

1. This must be created as an Event Registration form, not a Website Form.

Website forms display on content pages and in modules. Event registrations on the other hand, collect additional information for registrations within an event.

  • Access: Components>Form Manager>Build/Edit (Layouts)>Event Registrations
  • Create a new form by selecting Add New Form Layout
  • On the Details tab, change the Layout is Used For drop-down to Event Registrations.
  • Build your form. For assistance, see: Create a Form.

Your form will be available to use for individual registration options within events.

If have created your form already, but do not see it listed under the Event Registrations layouts, it was assigned to the wrong layout category. To correct this:

  • Select All from the filter drop-down between "and belongs to" & "group(s)".
  • Find your form and open to edit.
  • From Layout Is Used For, select Event Registrations.

2. You do not need to create a Form Action.

Since advanced registrations already has an action applied to it through the events component itself, the creation of a new action is unnecessary.
